The Door on the Fringe
Visitors to Edinburgh's celebrated Fringe will have the opportunity of seeing the award winning play The Door this August. In the year since the first performance at the Leatherhead Drama Festival, the production has won no fewer than eight awards including best new writing, best actor (for both actors) and best director; has played to packed houses in Dorking, Bracknell and Ascot. Now it is available to a wider audience as the same talented team take the production to the Gilded Balloon.
So what is The Door?
It's drama, tension, humour. An exploration of matters that concern us all, an unraveling of a history.
It's a room, a banging door. Two men converse, bicker and joke about politics, religion, trivia and consequences - we gradually realize they aren't strangers. Somebody died...
